The Human Tornado was living the high-life when he kicked off 2007 finally ending Joey Ryan's 13-month reign as PWG World Heavyweight Champion and captured the gold in a Guerrilla Warfare Match on January 13. He was completely over and now he had the belt to prove his top rank position. Only it was all cut short just over a month later on February 24. A change in structure to the card resulted in him having to defend the title against El Generico instead of wrestling a six-man tag team match and when it was all said and done Generico claimed victory in winning the PWG World Heavyweight Championship.
This greatly effected Tornado and it showed a month later when he returned on March 24 to face Disco Machine. He was a lot more aggressive. What's more, he started using his valet Candice LaRae. For months, this would go on as Tornado would try to pull every dirty trick in the book to defeat his opponents or at least make Candice take the brunt of the punishment. And no matter what the result at the end of the match, Tornado would take her out in some vicious manner. At times, this would include him nailing her with his finisher the Dat Nigga Dead twice in a row.
Then came the fateful night on September 1, the second night of the 2007 Battle of Los Angeles. Tornado was eliminated in the first round by Dragon Gate superstar CIMA and took his frustrations out on Candice. After hitting her with the Dat Nigga Dead, he motioned the slow throat slash and began to lock her in the Crippler Crossface. That went too far. Having seen enough, Chris Hero leaped from the merchandise table and rescued Candice from the evil pimp. Hero promised to beat Tornado's "skinny black ass" for all that he's done to her. After a brawl on the floor with Hero chasing Tornado out, he carried the beaten girl to the back. The next night, they had their first encounter during the 12-Man Tag Team Match. As Tornado was making his entrance, Hero already wanted to go after him. The end of the match came when Tornado faked going for a dive and tried to attack Candice. However, that left him exposed for Hero to roll him up and gain a victory.
Hero and Tornado would meet against on October 13. Just as intermission was coming to an end, Tornado snuck up from behind and jumped Hero was he was finishing up selling his swag. The two brawled about the venue, jumping off whatever was around including bars, tables, and even the walls. They finally managed to get the action into the ring and squared off. However, Tornado would get the win by taking advantage of a referee distraction with a low blow and a roll up while his feet were on the ropes. But Hero said that this was far from over and would follow the evil pimp to Europe as the two would clash again on the first night of European Vacation II in Paris, France. While Tornado would win again, Hero was certainly making it harder for him to escape his clutches.
On November 11, PWG spiced things up with a Mystery Partner Tag Team Match in which both men would have a mystery partner to compete with. Hero went first and said that Tornado had taken the feud to such a level that he decided to swallow his pride and enlist the help of a man he hated more than anything. And so Hero's mystery partner was his arch-nemesis, "The King of Diamonds" Eddie Kingston. Hero and Kingston were already face-to-face, but Kingston was here as Hero's partner and quickly turned his attention to Tornado. Tornado didn't seem impressed and decided to announce his mystery partner. EDDIE KINGSTON!!! Immediately, Kingston jumped Hero and it became a two-on-one encounter. Though Hero vailant fought them off at times, and even with Candice assisting, it was still an overwhelming handicap. Then Claudio Castagnoli leaped in for Hero to make the hot tag. Such was made and Claudio, a house of fire, looked ready to hit Tornado with a European Uppercut... only to instead turn around and hit Hero! Tornado, Kingston and Claudio continued to beat down Hero even after the bell rang and Tornado topped it off by hitting Candice with the Dat Nigga Dead on top of Hero. The three foes verbally assaulted Hero before making their exit. The battered Hero still had strength left to carry Candice out.
With PWG having wrapped up their 2007 schedule, the Hero vs. Tornado feud has just only begun. The possibilities are endless as to where this program will go next, and the first show of 2008 will be the sixth edition of the promotion's All-Star Weekend event. There's no telling what Hero and Tornado will have in-store for one another.

Pro Wrestling Guerrilla announced that there will be some special stipulations involved in the continuing war between Chris Hero and Candice LaRae against Human Tornado. First, there will be a six-person tag team match for Night One on January 5. The stipulation will then apply to Night Two on January 6. If Hero's team wins on Night One, Hero will face Tornado in a No Disqualification match with Tornado's teammates banned from ringside. However, if Tornado's team wins, then Tornado gets to face Candice LaRae with Hero and his team banned from ringside.
Already Tornado has Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston as his partners, leaving Hero having to choose his. Hero decided that Candice herself will be part of the team, thus leaving only an empty spot. And Hero has decided to really go nasty in finding a partner who would help in his cause against Tornado. And that man is none other than...
THE NECRO BUTCHER!
And so on January 5, 2008 at the Van Nuys Armory in Van Nuys, California, it will be Chris Hero, Candice LaRae and NECRO BUTCHER against Human Tornado, Eddie Kingston and Claudio Castagnoli in a Six-Person Intergender Tag Team Grudge Match.

We are absolutely loving the way PWG has been booking the feud. We're just screaming at the top of our lungs throughout.

Night One - January 5 The six-person intergender tag team match of Candice LaRae, Chris Hero and Necro Butcher vs. Claudio Castagnoli, Eddie Kingston and Human Tornado became the main event of the evening. Almost immediately, the six began to brawl in and out of the ring. Things go so chaotic, they spilled out of the Van Nuys Armory and into the cold rain. After some time spent on the wet streets of Los Angeles, which included the usual Necro-style destruction such as dumping cold, murky garbage water on Claudio and throwing a trash lid at Kingston's nipple, they all made their way back into the arena and into the ring. The devious villains isolated Hero for some time before he made the hot tag to Necro and all hell once more broke loose. However, all came to an end when Kingston scored the victory for Tornado's team by nailing Hero with the Blackout Driver. That meant that on night two it would be Tornado vs. Candice with Hero and Necro banned from ringside.
Night Two - January 6 Revenge became the foremost thought in Hero's mind as he took on his archnemesis Eddie Kingston in a one-on-one grudge match. The legendary war had reached the west coast and fans were not disappointed. However, the physicality of the match pushed them to the limit and Hero ended up tweeking his knee. While he snuck a roll up victory on Kingston, it was clear his knee was injured. That did not stop him from coming out in a desperate attempt to save Candice when during her match with Tornado the evil pimp announced that he was going to piss on her. Hero was being held back by referees in his hobbled attempt to get to the ring, only to be knocked down by Kingston. Fortunately for Candice, Necro made his way to the ring and whacked away on Tornado before Claudio emerge for their match to go down.
The feud between Hero and Tornado remains unsettled and one can be sure that there will be more to come between the two.

If you've read some of the ROH results or visited Hero's MySpace page, you'll see that the injury was serious enough that he had to wear a cast and use crutches. While he competed on the second night of the ROH double-shot, one has to wonder just how much actual wrestling he did in the intergender tag match with Sara Del Ray.

It appears Hero doesn't give a damn about his injury and is more concerned with continuing his war with Tornado as they have been scheduled to face off at the January 27 show for PWG entitled "Pearl Habra."

No Disqualification Match Chris Hero (with Candice LeRae) vs. Human Tornado
-- All Star Weekend will be forever known as "Zero Star Weekend" for Chris Hero. On the first night of All Star Weekend 6, Hero was defeated in a crucial match, one that carried a stipulation that would end up pitting Candice LeRae against Human Tornado one-on-one with Hero barred from ringside. Then on Sunday night, in a match with Eddie Kingston, Hero suffered a knee injury while delivering a neckbreaker to Kingston, a move he has done probably 400 times in his career. Though Hero was able to tough it out and very narrowly defeat Kingston, the damage had been done. On top of the injury, Hero was then forced to stay backstage and look on as Human Tornado brutalized Candice LeRae, until it finally became too much to endure and Hero made his way to ringside to help Candice, costing her the match in the process. But upon coming to Candice's aid, Hero was blindsided by Eddie Kingston, who used the opportunity to further attack Hero's already weakened knee. This ultimately forced Hero to seek medical attention for his knee, and it was at that Tarzana Medical Center where he found out he had suffered a partially torn MCL. Truly, for Chris Hero, on the Five Star scale, it was a "Zero Star Weekend."
Hero swears he is ready to return to the ring, despite his physician's insistence that he wear a knee brace to perform even the most menial tasks, such as navigating stairs. Disregarding the advice of the best doctors Metropolis has to offer, Chris Hero intends to make Human Tornado pay a price for his actions not only at All Star Weekend, but for the past 9 months, as well. Hero demanded the opportunity to inflict the same type of punishment on Tornado that he inflicted on Candice at All Star Weekend 6, and that is exactly the opportunity he will receive. Anything, or anyone is legal in a No Disqualification match, so Chris Hero plans on using crutches, a knee brace, and even a wheel chair if need be to soften up Human Tornado. However, with Hero's knee problems well publicized, the smart money would be on Human Tornado looking to exploit the injury. Hero may think he's ready for the next step in his battle with Human Tornado, but he could end up paying a much higher price than a mark in the Win-Loss column.

Changes were made on the night of the show. Both Necro Butcher and Eddie Kingston could not make it at the last second. For Eddie, it was apparently a court order he had to attend. Necro because he was filming scenes for "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke. The originally scheduled Chris Hero vs. El Generico match ended up getting changed. And it went a little something like this.
---
2. Candice LaRae vs. LuFisto The second "official" womens match in PWG and Candice found herself going up against one of the baddest women around. LuFisto had developed quite a reputation in North America for being a hardcore chick who could go punch for punch with the men, including well sought after encounter with Necro Butcher. LuFisto wasted no time getting violently physical on Candice and both men descended very quickly into a brawl without ever really having a wrestling match. The girls went punch for punch with the fans getting quite excited with each passing minute. They put togehter a darn good match and it came to an end when LuFisto hit a flying crossbody off the top rope only for Candice to roll through the momentum and score the pin. Winner: Candice LaRae
After the match, PWG World Heavyweight Champion Human Tornado and Claudio Castagnoli came out looking to mess with Candice. Only Chris Hero immediately cut them off before they could get started, allowing Candice to make a quick escape. Soon enough, it was just Hero and Claudio and the bell rang for a match to get underway.
3. Chris Hero vs. Claudio Castagnoli So Eddie Kingston couldn't make it to town. That's okay as Hero and Claudio made up for his absence with a pretty cool brawl between the former partners. This was the third encounter between the two in a PWG ring, the first time it had any sort of storyline importance behind it. Hero had a piece of his trunks covering his left leg, obviously trying to mask the cast he was wearing for his still injured knee. Nonetheless, the two really go all out in putting on a performance for the fans. It probably wasn't their best one-on-one encounter, but it was still really good given how it related to the Hero-Tornado feud. Hero reversed out of a Claudio finisher with a roll up for the win. Winner: Chris Hero
After the match, Tornado came out to jump Hero. Candice attempted to make the save only to get cut off by LuFisto. Seeing this caused Hero to hulk up as he went ballistic and chased the villains out of the ring. Hero and Candice leave on their own two feet.
---
During Intermission, Hero came out for his usual shelling of his merchandise while a couple of us got to talk with Bonham. Intermission ended with Excalibur getting into the ring and explaining that Dino's absence was because of a Jewish holiday tradition he had to do. Excalibur then accused all of us of being terrible Jews! He then mentioned that Necro Butcher was also unable to be here as he had been cast for a part in the up-coming Mickey Rourke movie "The Wrestler." He also hinted that Kingston couldn't make it because of a court order for something. So the main event was changed and Excalibur stated that because of what happened earlier tonight, the match was now the first ever PWG Intergender Tag Team Street Fight as Chris Hero and Candice LaRae battled Human Tornado and LuFisto!
---
6. Intergender Tag Team Street Fight Candice LaRae and Chris Hero vs. Human Tornado and LuFisto It was us the fans on the PWG Message Boards who had been wanting LuFisto in PWG because we felt she would make a great addition to the roster. In her first night with the promotion, she had been thrown into the Hero-Tornado feud as the female opposition to Candice. And we could not have asked for a better situation. The match itself was really good made better by the compelling storytelling all four had put together and the atmosphere that was in the air for the match. They wasted no time getting violent with these vicious chair and trash lid shots. They went in, out and around the ring all night and it was just a bloody mess full of fun and excitement. Cool spot was Hero hitting Tornado with a somersault placha off the stage. At one point, LuFisto went totally nuts on Candice by scratching the hell out of her forehead. She might have ripped out a scalp or two, though those could also have been extensions that were in the way of the blood and pain LuFisto was causing. Sick stuff. Many times Tornado and LuFisto would have the advantage before Hero would hulk up and fight back only to get beat down again. The finale came when every one had just knocked themselves silly into next February. Hero had hulked up and nailed LuFisto with a big time piledriver. Tornado attempted to his Hero with the Dat Nigga Dead onto a chair, but Hero reversed out and did a Carvate suplex varation scoring him and Candice the victory. Insane fun, really. May not have been the match of the night, but it carried over with the momentum that had been running all night resulting into a great match from start to finish. Winners: Candice LaRae and Chris Hero
After the match, Claudio hit the ring and strapped Hero's wrists on the ropes with duct tape while Tornado and LuFisto had their way with Candice. Tornado nailed her with the Dat Nigga Dead and then LuFisto speared her through a table. Their roughing up the referees along the way resulted in Excalibur and TARO chasing the villains out while they needed to use keys from fans to free Hero. Hero smashed whatever object was in sight before taking the mic and proclaiming to Tornado that "This was personal. No you've made it f**kING personal!" He vowed to attack him any time and any where be it in a match, while Tornado was on his way to a match, in the locker room, or even in the parking lot. He put Candice over as the toughest chick in professional wrestling for valiantly fighting through all the abuse she had been taking the past year, even mentioning how she leaped off a ladder that was in the ring and onto Joey on the floor way back in January 2006 to help Tornado win the PWG title the first time. After Hero carried Candice off, Excalibur proclaimed that he felt responsible for what happened to Candice tonight because he booked the match and he promised to help make it right.
